Client Signatures, QR Codes, and OTP Processes in Mobiloan and Allps
1. Where can I see the client’s signature ?
Client signatures can be viewed directly on the contract if the signature was captured via screen signing on Mobiloan. If the client signs using a non-handwritten method (such as OTP, voice consent, or Allps terminal), a QR code will appear in place of a handwritten signature. This QR code securely contains authentication details associated with the client’s acceptance of the agreement.
2. Why do some contracts show a QR code instead of the client’s signature?
A QR code will appear instead of a handwritten signature when any of the following signing methods are used:
Allps promissory signature
Allps USB terminal touchpad
Hand signature on paper (not uploaded to Mobiloan)
DebiCheck consent (Debisign)
Telephone voice recording
OTP (One Time Pin) consent
Mobiloan automatically determines which signature method applies and displays either the client’s signature or a QR code accordingly.
3. What if I only see the signature on the Promissory Note, but a QR code on the Loan or Insurance Contract?
That is expected behavior. If a client signed the promissory note on the Allps terminal, that signature is stored on the promissory document only. The Loan and Insurance contracts will then display a QR code representing verified consent captured through other means (e.g., OTP or DebiCheck).
4. Why do some promissory notes show as unsigned in Allps?
A promissory note may show as unsigned if the client bypassed signing on the terminal during the card swipe phase — this is a known bug in the Allps software workflow.
Mobiloan checks for a signature from Allps. If none is found, it generates its own contract using QR code verification.
5. If clients are asked to sign through DebiCheck, why don’t we see their signature?
When using DebiCheck consent (Debisign), the system applies the client’s signature captured from the promissory mandate. Since DebiCheck is a digital consent method, the final contract will usually display a QR code rather than a handwritten signature. This ensures legal traceability and compliance.
6. How can we confirm a QR code is valid and accepted legally?
The QR code represents a secure, verifiable record of the client’s digital consent — whether via OTP, voice, or DebiCheck.
When scanned, the QR code traces back to the client’s validated signing action. This method is legally compliant and offers stronger proof of consent than a simple signature, as it combines:
Verified client identity (via selfie and KYC processes)
OTP confirmation records
Timestamped transaction logs
7. If we want the client’s handwritten signature on all contracts, what should we do?
To ensure the client’s handwritten signature appears on all documents, use the screen signing function in Mobiloan rather than relying on the Allps terminal.
Currently, Mobiloan does not receive signature images back from Allps terminals used for Amplifin promissory notes — those are used only to complete the Allps-side documentation.
8. How do OTPs work in the signing process?
The OTP process depends on whether the client is new or returning and how recently their cellphone was verified. Here’s how the system behaves:
Scenario
OTP Used
Triggered When
New client – OTP sent to verify cellphone number, and loan created within 1 hour
Same OTP used for both verification and signing
Verification + loan creation < 1 hour apart
New client – No OTP sent during origination
New OTP sent at loan submission
When submitting the loan
Returning client – More than 1 hour since last OTP
New OTP sent
On submission of new loan
Returning client – Loan created within 1 hour of last OTP
Same OTP used
Verification + loan creation < 1 hour apart
The OTP will always be sent via Mobiloan when required. A dialog box appears prompting OTP entry to confirm signing.
9. What if no OTP was sent during origination — when will it be sent?
If no OTP was sent during the initial origination process, a new OTP will be automatically sent when submitting the loan for finalization. The client will receive this via SMS, voice, or WhatsApp, depending on configuration settings.
10. How can we verify that our setup settings are correct?
You can review and adjust allowed signature methods in:
Setup → Configuration → User
Make sure your business processes align with your preferred client verification method — for example, enabling screen signing if you need visible handwritten signatures on all agreements.
11. Are QR codes and digital consents legally valid in court?
Yes. Digital consent methods used by Mobiloan (including QR codes, OTPs, and DebiCheck) comply with electronic transaction laws.
In fact, they often provide stronger evidentiary support than handwritten signatures, as they include:
Verified client phone number
Timestamped consent
System audit trail
(Optionally) selfie verification
These collectively demonstrate identity, intent, and consent.
12. Where can we get further assistance or training?
If your team requires more clarity or hands-on guidance, on-site or virtual training can be arranged with Mobiloan support. Please inform the team how many days of training are needed to receive a quotation and schedule a suitable date.
