How to Update a Passport to an ID Number?

This guide explains how to update a client's identification from a passport number to a South African ID number when the client has obtained citizenship.

Step 1: Access the New Loan Workflow

Navigate to the New Loan screen where you can see the client's current information.

• Note the Client Passport field displaying the current passport number (e.g., ABC123)

Step 2: Click on the Client Passport Field

1. Click on the Client Passport field (highlighted in red in the example)

2. This will open the secondary options menu

3. From the dropdown menu that appears Click on the "Modify ID/Passport Number" option.

Step 4: Update to SA Citizen Status

On the Client Profile screen:

1. At the top of the form, locate the citizenship status options

2. Select the "SA Citizen" radio button (instead of "Foreigner")

Step 5: Enter the ID Number

1. Once "SA Citizen" is selected, the ID NUMBER field will become active

2. Enter the client's new South African ID number in the provided field

3. Verify all other client information is still correct

Click the Save button at the bottom of the form to update the client's identification.
